34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

God is not only loving; He is love personified. God demonstrated His love for mankind by allowing His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die a shameful and pitiable death on the Cross (John 3:16, Roman 5:6-8).
We reflect the image of God in us when we show love to others. True and genuine love will always make a demand on us; to pray for someone, to visit someone in spite of our tight and busy schedule, to give material gift to someone or to lend a helping hand in a way.

Jesus told us that true mark of love is making a positive response to the needs of others and not being egocentric or self-centred. The parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10; 30-37) is a deep reflection about love.
God reckons the love we show to others as love demonstrated to Him and He rewards it appropriately. Is your life filled with love?

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, gave it as a commandment that we should love one another as He loved and has continued to love us. He said that it is only by our mutual love for one another that people will know and identify us as His true disciples.
John 13:34-35.

As true and faithful followers of Christ we must cultivate the attitude of love towards others and make deliberate effort to demonstrate it practically. Jesus in Matthew 25:31-46 showed that practical demonstration of love for the “least of His brethren” will be part of the basis for the judgement of nations.

PRAYER: Lord help me every day, to seek opportunity to demonstrate your love in the family, church and my community that you have placed me.
