GIVING IT ALL TO GOD

MARCH 21|SUNDAY
BIBLE READING|LUKE 18:28-30

We rejoice in God’s promises because we know that without them we would drift away. We are helpless without Him. If our salvation depended on our ability to stay the course, get all things right and save ourselves, we would certainly flounder and drown.

There was the story of a business man who had worried and fretted for over 15 years while running his business. He had a large plant that covered several acres of land. With growth and success came ever-increasing demands. Each new day brought new list of responsibilities. One fateful day, weary, stressed, and in fear, he decided to hand over the business to God. With a smile of quiet contentment, he prayed, “from tonight, Lord God, my business is yours. All my worries, stress, and fears I hand over to your sovereign will.”

That night he went to bed earlier than he ever did since he started the business. For the first time in years, he slept like a baby. At the middle of the night his phone rang. The message was that “the entire plant is going up in flame!” The businessman dressed up, and drove to the plant. On arrival, he stood there and watched with a little smile but no visible worries or panic on his face. One of his concerned workers hurried to his side and said, “sir, you seem not worried at all.” The man answered, “last night, I handed over this business to God. If He wants to burn it down, that’s His business.”

It’s that firm confidence in the Lord, no matter what, that brings true and lasting joy! Firm confidence means every moment of your life is in God’s hands. He who started it all will bring forth the results exactly as He planned for His greater glory.

PRAYER: Father, deliver me from every form of anxiety and help me to trust you in every situation.
