BIBLE READING|GALATIANS 5:1,13-26
Christians should know that Jesus has already provided freedom for us.
If we don’t know that we have been liberated we will remain in bondage. Jesus said in John 8:32 that you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Ignorance of the truth of our liberty from every satanic bondage has made many believers to remain under the oppression of the devil. Isa. 5:13 says my people have gone into captivity because they lack knowledge.
The greatest weapon of the devil against Christians is lies. If he can make you believe you are still a slave of sin you will never be able to overcome sin, for as a man thinketh in his heart so is he – Prov. 23:7. If you as a Christian still believe you are under the dominion of the power of darkness, he will continue to oppress you. The day you discover that you have been delivered from the power of darkness – Col 1:13 and you believe and appropriate it, you immediately begin to experience freedom. You need to know the truth that sin shall no longer have dominion over you – Rom. 6:14, and the truth that you know, believe and practice will definitely set you free.
God has promised us complete freedom in every area of our lives, but we can only enjoy these promises as we know, believe and appropriate them. Whatever habit you had before you came to Christ you need to know that because of the new life, you are free from those habits. “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature old things have passed away, all things have become new” – 2 Cor. 5:17. Your liberty should free you from those ungodly habits – Galatians 5:13.
PRAYER: Father, help me to walk and operate in the liberty Christ purchased for me through His death and resurrection.
