GROWING THE CHURCH

APRIL 1|THURSDAY
BIBLE READING|LUKE 24:44-49

The Lord Jesus Christ during the last days of His ministry on earth already set the stage for the worldwide growth of the church. Some of His last words are recorded in Matt. 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20, and Acts 1:8. Reading and meditating on these passages help us to keep focus on what the Lord has given us, and sometimes provides us with scriptures that help in actual declaration of the gospel.

We have to actively participate in proclaiming the gospel by sharing the good news from a loving God to a lost world. This we can do through: Evangelism in the vehicles we travel in; at social events; hospital visitation, and praying for the sick; prison visitation and praying for the inmates; sharing of gospel tracts; early morning or late night ‘cries’; street evangelism, including house-to-house evangelism etc. In addition, with today’s technological advancements, we can reach the world through any of the social media platforms, including short message service (sms) via cell phones, WhatsApp, Facebook, emails etc. If we adopt a combination of any these methods depending on context, we will grow the Church of God.

What specific steps can you take to be a part of those who grow the church of Jesus Christ?

PRAYER: Lord, please empower me by your Spirit to reach my circle of influence for you in every way possible.
