BIBLE READING|REVELATION 4:9-11
Isaiah 43:21 says, “This people I have formed for myself; they shall declare my praise.” Once we discover that God has made us for Himself, our whole perspective of life changes. We will soon cease to have a worldly perspective and begin to have a godly perspective of things. Every single person has in himself a longing for God, his Creator. That is why we see people searching for the truth everywhere.
The question however is, are they really searching for truth? He will reveal Himself to us more and more as we long for Him. Like our natural appetite works, we eat when we are hungry. This doesn’t mean that we will not be hungry again. So when we are hungry, we just must eat.
God always satisfies us so long as our hunger and thirst for Him grows. This longing increases as we feed our souls with the word of God. The hunger and thirst is an intimate personal relationship with God. David said, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.” (Psalm 42:1). We need more David’s in our generation who will pant after God, not because we have material needs, but we seek God for who He is.
When we sincerely ask God to ignite the desire He has placed within our heart for Him, He will respond. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6).
PRAYER: Lord, I am grateful for making me for yourself and your pleasure.
