BIBLE READING|PROVERB 4:20-22
Just as we feed on good food to stay healthy physically, we have the responsibility as believers to feed regularly and adequately on the word of God to stay healthy spiritually. When we feed our hearts adequately with the word of God, it helps to regulate our thought pattern and ultimately guide our actions positively to please God as posited by the Psalmist – “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee” – Psalm 119:11.
Moses through faithful obedience to the word became a shining example of those that stayed healthy by the word. The scripture testified about him as follows: “And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated” – Deut 34:7. Joshua and Caleb gave good reports of the promised land by virtue of their faith in the word. They both enjoyed divine health in the midst of all the terrible plagues that destroyed thousands of men that left Egypt. At four scores and five years, Caleb could testify boldly that his strength was as it was forty years before – Josh 14:10. Joshua lived to a ripe age of one hundred and ten years without a single day of sickness report.
Divine health is a promised blessing through engaging meaningfully, the word of God. Stay by the tenets of the word of God and you will enjoy a daily healthy living.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, grant me total obedience to your word so your promise of divine health can be mine continuously in Jesus name.
